NEW BEDFORD, Mass., October 14, 2009 – AHEAD continues to play to the strength of its popular brand with the launch of the Spring 2010 men’s Authentics apparel line. The entire line features high-performance fabrics, casual and contemporary styling at a great value. AHEAD’s Spring 2010 offers new additions in its Eco-Friendly collection, Quick Dry Performance and Dri-Balance collections.

Highlights of Men’s Spring 2010

Mercerized Performance (Dri-Balance)

AHEAD has added another affordable classic luxury mercerized dri-balance polo to its award-winning Hybridwear line. 

Ø      The Mercerized Dri-Balance Jersey Solid Polo (Style PL77) is the perfect combination of performance and comfort. Made from 70 percent Egyptian cotton and 30 percent polyester, this 60’s 2-ply double mercerized piece has been incorporated with the moisture wicking capabilities to keep you cool and dry. The polo comes in six colors — ruby, pine, greystone, mineral, white and onyx. Available Dec. 1, 2009, the suggested retail is $69. Sizes S-XXL.

Eco-Friendly Collection:

AHEAD continues to Go Green with its expansion of its Eco-Friendly collection made of innovative fabrications like organic cotton, bamboo and coconut bi-products. A big benefit of this line is that the fabric blocks out UV rays that equate to an UltravioletProtection Factor (UPF) of 50+.  AHEAD staff professional Retief Goosen is a big fan of the Eco-Friendly collection and wears it weekly on tour.

Added for Spring 2010 are two new polos:

Ø      A Poly/Bamboo Textured Jacquard polo (Style No. OG09) is made of 51 percent performance polyester and 49 percent bamboo charcoal. This polo features moisture wicking and quick dry performance fabrics to keep golfers cool and dry through the round. Available in AHEAD’s extreme fit and styling, the polo comes in four colors — evergreen, cobalt, poppy and carolina. The suggested retail is $60. Sizes S-XXL.

Ø      The Poly/Bamboo Satin Stripe polo (Style No. 0G17) is made of 60% performance polyester and 40% coconut charcoal. The extreme fit and styling features anti-microbial moisture wicking properties with drop needle styling, under arm mesh gussets and side vents, to help keep the golfer cool and dry. The polo comes in five colors — evergreen, cobalt, Carolina, poppy and white for a suggested retail of $65. Sizes S-XXL.

Quick Dry Performance

AHEAD will add to its popular Quick Dry Performance three new polos. The Quick Dry Performance line features a collection of 100 percent polyester performance polos with moisture wicking and odor management attributes to keep the garment dry, cool and fresh.  Additional features include a three-button angled placket, mechanical stretch, rib knit collar with Lycra® and AHEAD’s “extreme” fit and styling.

The three new polos added to the line will be available Dec. 1, 2009.

Ø      Quick Dry Performance Bi-Color Stripe polo (Style No. PP78)  that comes in four color combinations — ruby, black and greystone, royal, navy and sunburst, concord, black and greystone, and sunburst, navy, and white. Suggested retail is $65. Sizes S-XXL.

Ø      Quick Dry Performance Auto Stripe polo (Style No. PP80) is available in five color combinations — ruby/white, royal/white, concord/white, sunburst/white, and white/onxy. Suggested retail is $65. Sizes S-XXL.

The entire spring 2010 apparel line can be customized using traditional embroidery or the AHEAD’s wide array of ornamentation offerings such as the vintage label, woven appliqué label, rubber appliqué label and their new Vintage printed labels.
